Most student leader programs of schools end up with the leaders helping the staff to maintain discipline in the school and working as volunteers during the school functions.
We believe that leadership is more than just being able to manage the students or help run an event. The school environment provides an excellent opportunity for these individuals to learn, practice and experience many more leadership skills like:
- Self-discipline.
- Self-confidence.
- Responsibility and accountability.
- Initiative, innovation and creativity.
- Team work and collaboration.
- Effective communication.
- Project planning and execution.
Hence the LEAD (Leadership Development) program which is run in partnership with schools. This program consists of two parts:
- exposing students to leadership skills (using the 7 Habits for Highly Effective People) which is done by our experts. For this students are shown specially chosen movies (12 Angry Men, Miracle, Chariots of fire, Invictus, Gandhi, Apollo 13 etc.) or participate in activities (team building exercises, group discussions, debates etc.) which highlight different leadership skills and ensures that learning is fun. In addition a dedicated mentor is assigned to each student who works individually with each student to bring out the best in them.
- providing students with an opportunity to apply these in the school environment which is managed by the school staff.
